Trophies Of War

Words can’t describe how much I've really struggled with this piece since I hadn’t done anything like it. I’m really happy that I was able to get it to a point where I was able to finish it, present it, and get through the entire project all while working in productions. Going through project burnout is extremely difficult and I’m very proud that this piece didn’t get abandoned and left in a folder. I feel I have learned so much through the process of this piece both artistically, technically, and mentally that I will take with me on future projects.

When I started this piece, the goal was only to practice organic sculpting and make a single human skull. That drastically changed as I introduced scope creep, workflow changes, and training my eye to raise the projects overall quality. I feel I made many mistakes, redid so much work and when I thought it was ready to publish, I pulled it back to raise quality bar even further.

I want to thank Joshua Lynch for his support and mentorship through many parts of this piece. Our calls really helped shape or reassure my ideas, and I feel I learned more about material reads from you. I want to give a big shout out to my old Twitch chat, many of the online/Discord communities that have provided me with feedback, and especially Georgian Avasilcutei in the early days giving me many pointers when I worked on this while streaming.
I hope many people enjoy this piece and I hope that parts of it help others explore their own ideas.
Thanks again everyone
Cheers
