VALORANT // FRACTURE

I joined this map after finishing up polish/optimizations of the map Breeze when it was just exiting blockout.

My primary focus was Attacker Side Spawn, Defender Side Spawn, A Link, A Rope, B Link, B Generator, B Tunnel, B Bench, A Hall, and Attacker Side Bridge, but honestly I was all over the place on this map. One of the challenges with this map was the amount of trimming we had to do while we defined a few different look sets. This map was mostly a material reuse map so we had to be really creative with our textures to get the look we wanted.

Overall this was a really great experience trying our hands at some the Kingdom look set, having more ownership on some areas and working on this map from Blockout. I learned so much more about Valorant over the past several months working on this with the team and I really hope the community enjoys playing it as much as we loved making it.

Huge thanks to the entire maps team on this one and getting it polished up for release.

Cheers

I wanted to create a short video showing off all the hard work from the maps team and practice my editing skills. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Attacker Side Spawn: This was the first area that I jumped on once I rolled off the map Breeze. Huge thanks to Nathen Rogers for some of his texture tuning when we were trying to nail the look set and thanks for the paint overs Theo :)

My responsibilities in this area were to take it from blockout to final. I inherited the main building after it had a first pass from Brandon Martynowicz. He also worked on the Zipline.

This was the second area I tackled on Fracture. Props to Delyan Farashev for taking the time to finish the interior and Josh Haun for the nice building in the far back.

Defender Side Spawn: This area was a bit odd trying to blend both look sets. Huge thanks to the concept team, Bmart and the rest of the maps team for the feedback during the creation process. Thanks for the beautiful lighting Eric :)

A Link: This was a fun little area with a bunch of trim work. Thanks for the painters Michael.

B Arcade: This area I mainly worked on a lot of shell work taking things to final and polish as well as set dressing. Nathen Rogers, Brandon Martynowicz, and Delyan Farashev also worked on several shells in this area.

B Site Link and B Generator: I worked on this area with Nathen Rogers and Delyan Farashev. I took many of these shells to final and did set dressing while Delyan and Nathen worked on the planting area of B Site.

Exterior to A Link: I took this area from blockout to Final. Joshua Haun took on the area more connected to A Site.

A Hall Doors: I ended up doing the doors for this map too. We ended up going through a bit of iteration trying to get the callout to feel right for players here.
